FIRE SAFETY CTE TECHNICAL BUILDING CODE

The requirement of the CTE in its Basic Document of Fire Safety limits the contribution to the fire and the flammability of the construction materials, as well as the capacity to exude smoke or incandescent particles when the material is on fire, limiting the risk of the fire from spreading inside and outside the building, as well as to adjacent buildings. The reaction to fire classification of materials is determined by the SBI test, measuring the following variables:

  • FIGRA W/s: Heat release, B/C/D
  • LFS: Lateral flame spread, B/C/D
  • THR MJ: Total heat emission first 10 minutes, B/C/D
  • SMOGRA m2/s2: Smoke opacity, s1/s2/s3
  • Flaming droplets and particles, according to classification standards d0/d1/d2
  • Its classification is established according to European standard EN-13501-1:2007

According to this standard, wood in general without any fireproofing treatment has a fire reaction classification D-s2,d0, with fireproofing treatments with autoclaves it can improve its reaction to fire up to class B-s1,d0.

FIREPROOFING IMPREGNATION IN APCS AUTOCLAVE FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE AND NAVAL SECTOR.

The fireproofing impregnation in autoclave used by BESTERWOOD represents a new impregnation technology and therefore a new way to fireproof technical wood, boards and laminates.

APCS autoclaves are designed to impregnate all type of wood requiring an adequate protection against fire, technology based on the full-cell high-vacuum method, that required for the wood to be immersed in the fireproofing liquid prior to the vacuum cycle, without involving over-pressure cycle that may damage glued boards or veneers.

WE FIREPROOF ALL TYPE OF WOOD AND WOOD-BASED PRODUCTS

Our treatment capacity allows us to fireproof all type of plywood boards, OSB3 oriented particles, laminates, blockboards, floorboards, friezes, in sizes up to 2000*6000 mm, all thicknesses.

Delivery period of the material treated, 6 – 8 days.

We provide pilot autoclave for the development of R&D projects related to material impregnation, impregnation cycles for flame retardant products and for external use.
